The ruling National People’s Party has vowed to beat the crowd pulled by opposition United Democratic Party on nomination day as it announced 12,000 supporters will accompany President Adama Barrow to the IEC tomorrow.
NPP senior official Ramatoulie Bah said: “The number of people who will accompany Barrow to IEC will be extremely massive. And we want to limit the number of women coming other regions to 1500 but for West Coast and KMC we cannot limit them. Why we limit other regions is that we don’t want burden them.
“We are going to put money together to pay for President Barrow’s nomination at the IEC. We take up this decision because President Barrow has done great for this country and he is a peace-loving president,” she added.
Ms Bah expressed high hope for Barrow’s landslide victory, adding the majority of the electorates are women and young people who she said are all behind Barrow’s bid for a second term.
She hit back at Barrow’s critics for attacking him, saying many of them were behind their curtains during the 2016 political impasse.
