Guards of exile former President Yahya Jammeh are expected to arrive in The Gambia from Equatorial Guinea, Gambiana has learned.

The group of guards travelled with Jammeh to his exile in 2017 after he was forced out by an Ecowas intervention force following his refusal to cede power to Adama Barrow.

A viral video shows the guards celebrating Barrow’s landslide victory which shows how homesick they are.

However, Ebrima Sankareh, spokesman of the government could not verify the home coming of Jammeh’s ex-guards saying he is on official leave, adding “I do not know.”
