The Supreme Court in Banjul today struck out the United Democratic Party’s election petition against President-elect Adama Barrow and the Independent Electoral Commission.

Opposition United Democratic Party this month filed an election petition to the nation’s top court seeking the court to scrap the December 4 election results and reorganize fresh elections.

The party accused Barrow of election fraud of bribing voters and insertion of non-Gambians in the election process.

The court ruled that the presidential election was free and fair and that the petition lacked merits.

This is a breaking news. More details to follow soon.
