Aja Fatoumatta Jallow Tambanjang

Fatoumatta Jallow-Tambajang has praised President Adama Barrow “excellent” inaugural speech, saying it’s “inclusive and promotes unity” among Gambians.

President Adama Barrow was sworn in today (19 January) at the Independence Stadium in a ceremony attended by eight west African leaders.  

“It was an honour and pleasure to attend His Excellency, President Adama Barrow’s swearing in ceremony today with many dignitaries, including Heads of States from the ECOWAS region and international community,” the former VP said.

“Gambians have been inspired and motivated by his excellent inaugural address, which is aimed at ensuring democracy, good governance, national unity, peace, stability and prosperity for all Gambians as well as development cooperation at all levels in line with our NDP, the SDGs 2030 and African Agenda 2063. 

“Wishing H.E Allah’s blessings in this strategic drive to move our country forward Allahumma Aameen,” she added.

President Adama in his inaugural address has pledged to rule in the interest of all Gambians. 

He said his development agenda will be people centred and inclusive. 

“My government priorities for the next five years, infrastructure, energy and technology have to be at the core of our development’s efforts. Our development orientation will continue to be people driven-centred, inclusive and wisely targeted for progress of growth and stability,” President Barrow said.

“I will be a president for all Gambians and will be tolerant to diverse views to enhance peace.”

Jallow-Tambang was Barrow’s president during his first term in office and served for several months before being replaced by Ousainou Darboe.
