The Gambia national football team players, The Scorpions, have taken to social media to complain about not receiving their match bonuses.
The players’ complaints come as they are stranded in Douala since Saturday’s quarterfinal match against the hosts Cameroon
“I don’t think we will go to meet the president because nothing is organised and there is no respect,” Gambian defensive midfielder Ebrima Sohna said in a viral video.
“We don’t see the D90 million, that 90 million doesn’t reach us, they raise it to take care of the football federation,” Sohna added.
“And the $10,000 we are promised has not been given to us yet and the match bonus of $10,000 are not paid to us,” Lamin Jallow, another Gambian international, said in the same viral video.
The Gambia Football Federation is yet to make a comment about the complaints of the players.
