The Gambia will get its first-ever specialised hearing clinic in a bid to addressing hearing problem in the country.
Portugal-based hearing clinic Calia Group, said it is partnering with Medicalia clinic to launch its audiology medical specialty in The Gambia.
The launch will take place on Monday 14 February.
“It will be the first and only hearing aids dispensing centre nationwide, equipped with Interacoustics diagnostic instruments, a Danish medical technology company.
“In fact, it will have a OAE device (Otoacoustic emissions), an essential tool in new-born hearing screening which up to date has never been performed in The Gambia,” the group said.
According to the clinic, the service will be provided by an experienced Cuban audiologist, with more than 20 years of professional career, and during the first week, the operations will be assisted by a member of Oticon (the world’s largest manufacturer of hearing aids).
