President Adama Barrow should have relieved Hamat Bah, minister of tourism and culture and Dr Ahmad Lamin Samateh, minister of health for “inept jobs”.
The claim was made by Momodou Ebrima Cham known as MC Cham Jnr, national youth president of Gambia Democratic Congress.
“We didn’t expect the likes of Hamat Bah to be retained in the new cabinet by Barrow, because nothing has been done to improve the tourism sector throughout his five years in office,” he said.
According to him, Barrow’s decision to bring back Hamat Bah to his cabinet was a matter of political convenience adding that because he doesn’t get majority in the National Assembly.
“His comeback is political because everybody knows what Barrow needed in the parliament, he didn’t get that number and he needs the four MPs of NRP,” he stated.
Meanwhile, he added: “If you come to the health sector, everybody thought Dr Samateh would not come back to the new cabinet because he is the first person who stood and say there is corruption in his ministry at the National Assembly and he has not taken any action to address that problem.
Mr Cham also expressed dissatisfaction about the retaining of the new minister of fisheries, Musa Drammeh and basic and secondary education minister, Claudiana Cole.
