President Adama Barrow has sacked his political adviser, Yusupha Cham, according to sources close to the Office of the President.
Mr Cham, a leading member of the United Democratic Party (UDP), was fired from the post last Friday. The president is set to make an announcement of his replacement.
This comes as the political feud between Barrow and the UDP intensified. Barrow has recently warned that he would fire any government official who undermined his National Development Plan (NDP).
“If you are in my cabinet, and your aim and objective are to sabotage the National Development Plan agenda, please resign before we come for you. We will not condone anyone who sabotage the National Development Plan agenda,” Barrow warned at a recent rally in Wuli Foday Kunda.
Yusupha Cham’s sacking comes after that of Almami Taal another leading member of the UDP. Taal lost his job as legal adviser at the Organisation of Islamic Conference national secretariat.
