Police deputy crime management officer for Kanifing Municipality has asked traders at the Serekunda Market to help in reporting thieves to the police in a bid to curb criminal activities in the region.

Thomas RJ Gomez was speaking today (8 September) at a news conference held at the Kairaba Police station following Sunday’s brutal killing of a 62-year-old woman in Bakau. 

Two suspects are in police custody, helping the ongoing investigation.

“We are appealing to those of you at the Black Market and to other people that are working at the Black Market, let me also use this opportunity to inform you that when people come with items to you for sale, and you know this item is costly than what they are selling it to you report them,” he said.
