Dou Sanno, a presidential adviser, has lashed out at US-based Gambians who staged a protest against President Adama Barrow in New York on Thursday. 

Barrow arrived in the United States last Sunday to address the UN General Assembly. 

Yesterday a group of Gambians in New York staged a demo calling for Barrow’s resignation. 

The group held placards and chanted “Barrow must go”. 

They blamed him for the growing insecurity in the country and for allowing corruption to run rampant. 

Now Barrow’s adviser, Dou Sanno, has blasted the group, calling them “unpatriotic” people who are not committed to developing their country while in the diaspora.

“In every society you have the bad and the good people. The good people are ones thinking about their country by working to develop their country back home like how Americans are doing.

“But that is not what we are seeing with some Gambians based in America who are using it to destroy their country,” he said.

“I am disappointed with those protesters. They came out with banners and no one understood what they were saying. 

“You cannot claim that Barrow is a dictator or he has killed someone. But you only wrote in an unclear language,” he added.
