Sainabou Mbye and her co-accused Cherno Mbye and Kimbly Dambelly
today pleaded not guilty to manslaughter charges at the High Court in Banjul.
The accused persons are charged on three counts including manslaughter, child neglect and exposing a child to danger.
The counts carry substantial prison terms including life sentence.
The state prosecutors brought in five witnesses and told the court of three more witnesses that they were intending to present the court.
Ida Drammeh, defence lawyer for Sainabou Mbye, applied for the court to grant seat to the three accused persons citing that one of them has problem with their leg and cannot stand for so long in court.
The two other accused persons are represented by lawyer Kombeh Gaye.
Presiding judge Justice Ebrima Jaiteh adjourned the case to Wednesday (5 October).
