The Ministry of Transport has adopted a new tariff system at the Senegambia Bridge weeks after drivers staged a nationwide strike over the high tariff rates.
It said the changes were made following consultation with various stakeholders including the drivers union.
Last month, the union staged a nationwide strike over the high tariff at the Senegambia toll bridge demanding the government reduced it.
In a statement today (6 October) the Ministry of Transport, Works and Infrastructure said “following consultations among various stakeholders, an agreement has now been reached to adopt a new tariff system at the Senegambia Bridge.
“With effect from the 15th October, 2022 the following system will be used at the Senegambia Bridge:
