Ibrahim JS Sanneh who seeks to contest the Brikama Area Council chairmanship next year has promised to prioritise reconciliation to mend the politically divided region.
“I have a good agenda for peace-building, reconciliation and inclusiveness because I am concerned about the already divided society based on party politics,” he told Gambiana.
“There are many candidates lined-up already and their parties are already divided as to whom to choose. If they win their party tickets they cannot unite us because they will be carried by emotions and party agenda,” he added.
Meanwhile, Mr Sanneh urged residents of West Coast Region to rally behind him to register developments
“I am the only independent contender so far who is not affiliated to a political party. Indeed there are other contenders but they are from political parties.
“And political parties have their agenda which they normally adhere to, their councillors are also doctrined with the same philosophy.
“Wards councillors of different politcal parties hardly marry their various agenda. Each of them is partisan in their approach,” he added.
