The legendary musician, composer and producer passed away Tuesday night.

Njie has been at the centre of Gambian music scene for over 50 years.

He is the founder member of Super Eagles, one of the most successful Gambian music group of all time.

The group inspired a generation of musicians from the Senegambia region including Youssou Ndour.

Njie wrote many songs including hits like “Mandal ly”, “Gambia Sunu Rew, “Viva Super Eagles” and ” Haleli Africa”.
