The ruling National People’s Party delegates have unanimously agreed to convene their national congress every four years instead of the current two years in their constitution.
Hundreds of the ruling party’s supporters and delegates including some state ministers have been gathering at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara Conference Centre in Bijilo for the party’s debut national congress since its formation in 2019.
“The National People’s Party congress will not go to congress for every two years, but the National People’s Party will go to congress for every four years as agreed by everyone yesterday,” Seedy SK Njie, spokesman for National People’s Party told the congress.
