The family of Fajikunda deceased Imam has asked the government to investigate the mysterious death of their father.

Imam Basirou Bah, the deceased, was Friday found dead hanging in an incomplete building in Fajinkunda.

His untimely death has shocked the community with neighbours expressing alarm.

His corpse has been taken transferred to Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital in Banjul for autopsy examination.

Speaking exclusively to Gambiana, his second wife, Mam Ceesay, said she last spoke with her late husband on Thursday asking him if he will go to a funeral of one of their family members.

“But in the morning we didn’t see him and his brother came to the compound asking for him. Then we called him on his mobile phone but he could not be reached. Then I suspected something might have happened to him.

“We don’t believe he killed himself because he always preach good to people asking them to desist from doing bad things.”

“So we don’t believe his kind of person will commit suicide. We want the government to help us and investigate his death. We suspected something bad about his death,” widowed Mam Ceesay told Gambiana in tears.
