Essa Balde, a Guinean national, has been charged for stealing Gamtel manhole cover along the Senegambia road.

Mr Balde is known to be a metal scrap dealer and resides in Tanji Village West coast Region. 

He appeared before the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court today (8 Feb.).

Alieu Ceesay, a Gamtel staff under the Department of Planning and Development, told the court that he caught the man stealing the state property.

Gamtel staff urged the public to report any act of vandalism on Gamtel network infrastructure.
