The Gambia Press Union will today submit a position paper to the National Assembly on the Criminal Code Bill.

The Criminal Code Bill 2022 has repealed some bad media laws, however, false publication and seditious intention is still left unrepealed in the new proposed bill.

Meanwhile, The Gambia Press Union is seeking a repeal of the these bad media laws still left in the Criminal Code. 

“GPU will present and submit a position paper on the Criminal Code Bill, 2022 to the National Assembly Human Rights Committee,” the union said in a statement.
