Mamadi Manneh, a youth player of Kuteh Jombulu Football Club of Basse, has died after tragic accident.
The young player died by drowning in a river yesterday.
He was reported to have been swimming in a local river with friends when the tragedy occurred.
Manneh, who until his untimely demise, was enrolled with the second division outfit’s academy.
He has been described as very humble, gentle and an adorable kid who has played a critical role in the academy’s recent success.
Mamadi, who until his untimely demise was enrolled with the second division outfit’s Academy, has been reported to have drowned at a local river in his community where he went to swim with his friends.
“The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) has learnt with regret, the tragic death of Mamadi Manneh, a youth player of Kuteh Jombulu Football Club of Basse.
“In this very difficult time, the GFF, on behalf of the entire football family, sympathise with the family of the late Mamadi Manneh and Kuteh Jombulu FC. May Allah give the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” The Gambia Football Federation said in a statement.
