Ahmad Gitteh has laid down his development programmes as he filed nomination papers to the Independent Electoral Commission.

Mr Gitteh is contesting the West Coast Region chairmanship under independent ticket after falling out with the ruling NPP party bigwigs.

He was defeated by Seedy Ceesay at the NPP primary run off but he described it as “rigged and unfair”.

Meanwhile, he told reporters in Brikama IEC regional office after submitting his nomination papers that he wants to give back to the country which paid for his overseas studies.

“I am a young man with a lot of development programmes for my people that I know and I have lived with through thick and thin.

“I know the problems of our people – problem of water, problem of education and scholarship, problem of waste management, problem of environment, problem of healthcare and problem of infrastructure.

“And I’ve put plans in place to make sure that when I get this position I would definitely change the situation of our people for better,” he said.
