Landing B Sanneh has been re-elected as chairman of Mansakonko Area Council. 

Sanneh of the opposition United Democratic Party defeated his opponent Kebba Dem of the National People’s Party.

Sanneh received 17,017 votes leaving his contender Kebba Dem with 13,757 votes, according to official results from the Independent Electoral Commission. 

The incumbent has been favourite in the race after opinion polls gave him a huge margin against his opponents among the town’s voters. 

Sanneh’s win is the latest positive results for the opposition United Democratic Party that had a great night.

The party defeated the ruling National People’s Party in all the major towns in the country.
