Mam Foday Sarr, a renowned Gambian wrestler and eldest man in Barra wrestling club, has died in Spain. 

“It is with the saddest regret that we announce the death of Mam Foday Sarr of Barra. He passed away today 16th of July, 2023 in Spain. 

“Mam foday was the elder of Club Barra and also represented The Gambia in so many International Wrestling games.

“We extend our condolences to his family, friends, love ones and the whole wrestling fraternity. 

“May Allah forgive his mistakes and grant him Jannah. As The Gambia Wrestling Association celebrates our international wrestlers today, we lost a great one on the same day,” a statement from Barra club said.
