Gambian track queen and Africa’s women fastest sprinter, Gina Bass, has finished sixth position with a time of 11.19 seconds in women’s 100m semifinals at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest.

“The reigning African Champion, Gina Bass finished 6th in the women’s 100m semifinals and failed to make it to the finals in the ongoing 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary,” The Gambia National Olympics said.

However, despite missing out in the women’s 100m finals, she has received praises among Gambians both at home and abroad. 

Gina has been flying the Gambian flag proudly as she makes history with her athletics ability in championships around the world.

She is still looking for glory in Budapest as she is set to participate in the women’s 200m.
