A suspected drug dealer is in police custody over the shooting of an officer of the Drug Law Enforcement Agency The Gambia (DLEAG) during a raid.  

The undercover officer was shot in the hand while attempting to arrest the suspected drug dealer during a sting operation, according to reports. 

The officer’s injury was not said to be life threatening and was discharged after receiving medical treatment. 

Meanwhile, the suspect, identified as Baba Susso, was said to have been dealing cocaine when he was arrested within the Greater Banjul Area. He was allegedly found in possession of one block of suspected cocaine.
