Drug Law Enforcement Agency’s officers have arrested four suspects over possession of illegal drugs including kush, hashish, and skunk.
The suspects are Alieu Bangura, a teacher and a Sierra Leonean national, Pierre Jandi, Sulayman Darboe, both businessmen, and Adetunji David Bamidele, a hotel steward.
According to DLEAG, the suspects were arrested with eight big stones and 300 pieces of cannabis resin (hashish) and one sachet of suspected skunk.
“Operatives also recovered a cash amount of twenty-four thousand dalasis (D24,000.00) and ten thousand CFA (CFA 10,000) suspected to be illicit proceeds from the trafficking and dealing in prohibited drugs,” the agency said in a statement.
The suspects are charged with contravening the Drug Control Act 2003 Revised Laws of The Gambia.
