At least dozens of passengers including workers and students have been stranded at coastal road as drivers of commercial vehicles refused to ply to Serekunda.
The drivers give no reason for the action but they said they can only stop at Wellingara or Kunkujang.
However, passengers condemned this act as illegal against the traffic act and want the government to immediately intervene and solve this impasse.
Musa Ceesay, one of the stranded passengers, said: “any driver you ask will tell you he will only stop at Wellingara or Kunkujang and that’s against the traffic rules. There was a time when the drivers started overcharging fares which resulted in the add up to fare.”
“The passengers including workers and students are currently facing a difficulty because none of the vehicles want to ply to Serekunda, but the drivers are reluctant to go. This is very sad,” he added.
