Gambian teenage star Yankuba Minteh will be out for ‘several weeks’ due to injury, Feyenoord have announced. 

The 19-year-old winger, who joined the club on loan from Newcastle United during the summer, picked up a muscle injury during Feyenoord’s 4-0 win over Vitesse last Saturday. 

Minteh will miss Feyenoord’s crucial Champions League clash against Lazio on Wednesday evening, and his side’s trip to Enschede to play Twente on Sunday. 

His injury will be a huge loss for Feyenoord seeing as he had made a massive impact since joining the club this season.

Gambia will also miss the teenage star as they prepare for their World Cup qualifiers against Burundi and Ivory Coast next month.
