The Gambia government has saved 200 million dalasis since it introduced foreign travel ban for state officials including minsters.

Ebrima G Sankareh, spokesman for the Barrow government, told West Radio that 200 million dalasis have been saved since the ban came into effect. 

Earlier this year, President Adama Barrow issued a presidential ban on foreign travel for government officials including ministers aimed at cutting state expenditure.

According to Ebrima G Sankareh, the ban is “very important” in cutting cost, adding that foreign travel goes with huge expenditure including allowances.
