Alasana Ann, a US-based Gambian Taekwondo fighter, will represent the Gambia at the Olympic Games in Paris.
Ann has been representing the country in Olympic Games for the past years as the country’s Taekwondo Association plunged into disarray with splited bodies.
However, the country’s minister of sports, Bakary Y Badjie, has commended Ann for always representing the country despite having chances to represent the US.
“I wish to extend my congratulations to Alasan for realising his dream and that of his family, and for making the Gambia proud as we will be represented in Taekwondo at the highest athletic competition in the world – the Olympic. Thanks to his family for the encouragement, his coach and academy for preparing this young man to reach this height. Congratulations- so proud of you,” he said.
