The Gambia Police Force have arrested a man over the mysterious death of a British woman.

The victim identified as Mrs Shaikna Chinedu was found dead days after she was reported missing. 

Her lifeless body was found in an incomplete building under mysterious circumstances in Mariama Kunda. 

The 60-year-old expatriate relocated to Gambia in 2017.

Police said that they have arrested a man between the ages of 20 to 30 years in connection with the murder of Shaikna Chinedu. 

“The suspect is currently cooperating with the police in the ongoing investigation,” Gambia police said. 

Mrs Chinedu’s death came as the country grapples with the rise in serious crimes including killings and robberies.
