President Adama Barrow

The Gambian President Adama Barrow has declared Friday and Monday as public holiday in observance of the Easter feast.

Christians have been observing the month of lent – a 40 day fasting period for them. 

State House said in a statement that “the office of the President wishes to inform the Public that His Excellency Adama Barrow, President of the Republic of The Gambia, is pleased to declare Friday, 29th March and Monday, 1st April 2024, which mark Good Friday and Easter Monday respectively, as public holidays throughout the country, to mark this year’s Easter celebration.

President Barrow sends his warmest wishes to all Christians, a joyous Easter season, and a happy holiday to all Gambians.”
