The Barrow government has been criticised over its “poor” organising of the just concluded OIC summit in Banjul.
The claim was made by Ebrima Soriba Bah, a former Barrow ally and ex-leader of the Barrow for Five Years Movement.
Bah, who defected to the opposition United Democratic Party, claimed that the summit was a “failure”.
Speaking to Gambiana exclusively, Mr Bah alleged that the Barrow administration “squandered” the resources that were provided to Gambia to host the international conference.
“The OIC was a total shame on Gambia. President Barrow and his government just put shame on Gambians because OIC being the second largest gathering of world leaders was a failed one because almost all the most powerful nations of the corporation did not attend due to lack of a five-star hotel to shelter them,” he said.
“Barrow’s government is a corrupt and deceptive administration. They have squandered the donated resources to Gambia to host the OIC summit.
“Barrow and his government put the country into more debt instead of the country benefiting from the summit. Barrow is plunging the country into deep debt that both Jawara and Jammeh governments did not do,” he added.
