Chief of defence staff, Lieutenant General Mamat O. Cham, has said that The Gambia’s security is the force top priority while urging soldiers to zealously safeguard the country’s peace and stability.
The army chief made the comments at Kerr Pateh village in the Lower Badibou District of the North Bank Region (NBR) as he embarked on a nationwide tour of security installations and barracks.
“As security services of the country, we are not competing with anyone. Let us work together in ensuring that we jealously safeguard the nation’s peace and stability so that Gambians can live in peace and go about their businesses without any hindrance,”
He added: “maintaining the peace and stability of the country and protecting people’s lives and properties will continue to remain a priority for the government of The Gambia.”
