A son identified as Musa Ceesay of Sukuta has allegedly set his mother on fire after a tense spat over his girlfriend. 

The woman however didn’t lose her life but sustained burn injuries.

It is reported that he shared the house with his mother and his girlfriend, and his mother had asked the girl to leave.

A source told Gambiana that Musa Ceesay left the house afterward and went to buy petrol. 

Upon arriving at the compound, while his mother was in the house, he put a padlock on the door, poured petrol, set the house on fire, and ran away.

The source added that the neighbours were able to rescue the mother before the fire spread throughout the house.
