Notts County Football Club has confirmed that forward Alassana Jatta has been selected for his first-ever call-up to the Gambia national football team.
The 24-year-old, known as AJ, is set to represent his country in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The club expressed their delight at Jatta’s achievement, with a statement reading: “Many congratulations to AJ, who is in line to appear in the next important AFCON qualifiers.”
Jatta’s call-up comes ahead of Gambia’s crucial fixtures in the qualifiers, where they will face Comoros at home on Friday, November 15, before traveling to Tunisia for an away match on Monday, November 18.
