Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Crime Management, Demba Sowe, on Tuesday visited Brikama Jalambang in response to last week reported murder.
The senior police officer, accompanied by a team of investigators, arrived at the crime scene to assess the situation and engage with the local community as part of the ongoing investigation.
In a statement, AIG Sowe assured the public that the case was being treated with the highest priority.
“We are committed to ensuring justice for the victim. Our team is working diligently to investigate this matter, and we are engaging with the community to gather vital information,” Sowe said.
While the police have yet to release further details on the circumstances surrounding the murder, they confirmed that the investigation is progressing, with additional resources allocated to the case.
Law enforcement is keen to bring the responsible individual to justice swiftly and transparently.
The Gambia Police Force has reassured the public that it is committed to a comprehensive investigation.
AIG Sowe’s visit, which focused on ensuring proper coordination of resources and gathering intelligence, is seen as an effort to show transparency and regain public confidence in the handling of serious criminal cases.
