Omar Jatto Jatta, the National Assembly member for Janjangbureh Constituency, has responded to criticism that he voted against the diaspora voting. 

Mr Jatta’s counter comments followed a viral list of lawmakers who are said to have voted against a clause that would have granted right to Gambians in the diaspora to vote and stand for elections.

In response to the allegation that he joined the anti-diaspora voting National Assembly members, Jatta said: “I never vote against diaspora registration.”
