It is with profound sadness that we join the Gambia Press Union and the entire media fraternity in mourning the untimely passing of two cherished members of our journalistic community, Modou Lamin Sanyang and Mass Kah.

Their loss is not only a blow to their families and respective media houses but also to the nation they served with dedication and integrity.

Modou Lamin Sanyang, a sports journalist at Star FM/TV, was a beacon of passion and excellence in his field. Known as “The Mandinka Sports Presenter”, his voice resonated with sports enthusiasts across the country. Modou’s commitment to his craft, his ability to engage audiences, and his relentless pursuit of excellence made him a standout figure in Gambian sports journalism. His sudden departure leaves a void that will be deeply felt by colleagues, listeners, and the broader sporting community.

Mass Kah, a messenger at Foroyaa Newspaper, was a silent yet indispensable pillar of the newsroom. His dedication and reliability ensured the smooth functioning of daily operations, allowing the voices of truth and accountability to reach the Gambian people. Though his role was often behind the scenes, his contributions were no less significant, and his absence will be keenly felt by all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

To the families of Modou Lamin Sanyang and Mass Kah, we extend our heartfelt condolences. May you find solace in the cherished memories of their lives and the legacy they leave behind. To the Gambia Press Union, Star FM/TV, Foroyaa Newspaper, and the entire media fraternity, we stand with you in this moment of grief and reflection.

As we mourn their loss, let us also celebrate their lives and the values they embodied—dedication, integrity, and a commitment to serving the public good.

May their souls rest in eternal peace, and may their legacy inspire us to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and humanity in our work. May Alijannah be their final Abode.
