Coach Johnathan McKinstry, the coach of the Gambia national team, is unfazed by his side’s potential clash with Ivory Coast, one of the continent’s football heavyweights in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers in March.
“Look, there is no reason we can’t take six points from the games. It is going to be really difficult, six points is not easy. We talk about Ivory Coast’s record already but if we play to our best we can match any team in the continent.”

“We know the Ivory Coast game will be incredibly difficult. However, we feel we have the players that will make life difficult for them much like we did with Tunisia in the last game.”
Johnathan McKinstry has named an array of stars in a 24-man squad before the media today at a press conference at the Football House for March World Cup qualifiers.
The coach left once again left out Ebrima Colley from the squad while James Gomez a Scorpions regular also failed to make the squad.
Goalkeeper Musa Dibaga, Saikou Touray and Gibril Sillah are in for their maiden called-up in The Gambia’s senior national team.
