A man has been arraigned in court over the murder of slain taxi driver Ebrima Ceesay.
Ebou Secka was recently arrested in Senegal, where he had sought sanctuary after escaping custody.
He is accused of murdering Ebrima Ceesay in 2024 and fled the country shortly after.
Mr Secka’s rearrest followed public protests after the deceased’s father threatened legal action against the police over the suspect’s escape from custody.

After appearing before Principal Magistrate Krubally of the Banjul Magistrate Court, where the suspect stood in the witness dock, the magistrate ruled that the case be transferred to the Special Criminal Court while ordering him to be remanded at the State Central Prison, Mile Two.
