Anger has erupted among homeowners  following the demolition of their properties in Salaji.

The demolition, allegedly carried out by the Department of Physical Planning, saw dozens of homes leveled to the ground on Friday.

In a video shared with Gambiana, affected homeowners and their families can be seen helplessly watching as the bulldozer levels their properties.

“You people will never see peace,” said a woman whose property had been pulled down in the video.

The Department of Physical Planning has been accused of stating that the demolition targets buildings that do not comply with construction regulations.

However, dozens of Gambians have expressed concerns about the demolition, condemning the process.
