The Gambia’s Supreme Court is set to hear the appeal of former Lands Minister, Yankuba Touray, who was sentenced to death for his role in the killing of former Finance Minister Ousman Koro Ceesay in 1995.
Touray, a former army captain and member of the AFPRC junta, was sentenced to death by hanging in 2022.

However, he is challenging the verdict, claiming that the High Court failed to properly evaluate the evidence presented during the trial.
