Police have arrested Buba Drammeh who escaped from Mile II prison in 2020 while awaiting trial for killing a man during a violent dispute between Gunjur and Berending.
Drammeh was accused of shooting Buba Jammeh to death during a violent dispute over a parcel of land in Kombo South in 2019. He escaped detention and fled the country.
However, Police Public Relations Officer ASP Modou Musa Sisawo said in a statement that the suspect was arrested in Senegal through a coordinated joint operation with the Senegalese Gendarmerie.

“Buba Drammeh, who escaped from Mile II Prisons in 2020, has been arrested through joint efforts of Gambian and Senegalese security forces.
“He was wanted in connection with the murder of Buba Jammeh during a 2020 land conflict between Gunjur and Berending,” the force said in the statement.
