Buba Drammeh, who escaped detention at Mile Two Prison while awaiting trial for the murder of Buba Jammeh, has been arraigned before the Banjul Magistrates’ Court on Thursday

Drammeh was initially detained over the killing Buba Jammeh during a violent dispute over a parcel of land between Gunjur and Berending in 2019.

He was recently arrested in Senegal through a coordinated joint operation between Gambian and Senegalese forces.

He now faces three charges, including murder and attempted murder.

The magistrate court has transferred his case to the High Court, stating that it does not have the jurisdiction to hear such capital cases.
