Alpha Jallow, a Nigerian man residing in The Gambia, has been arrested with fake $23,100 in US dollar notes.

Jallow, also known as “Muslim Man”, was arrested by Gambian police officers in Bakau following an intelligence tip-off.

Police investigators recovered $23,100 in suspected counterfeit US dollars and 57.5 million CFA in suspected fake currency.

“The counterfeit currencies have been secured for forensic examination as part of ongoing investigations,” police said.

The suspect has been formally charged and remains in custody as police continue to probe the origins and potential network behind the operation.
