Controversial rapper One Pac has announced that he is boycotting the ‘Best of the Best’ concert, an annual event that features Gambian artists.

He cited being undermined and disrespected by the organisers as the main reason for his decision.

“This year, I am boycotting the Best of the Best concert because I will not allow anyone to disrespect me. I am not a useless man; I am good at what I do. They didn’t want to include me in their concerts in previous years. They are ill-minded and hateful, and they are destroying the industry,” he said in a protest video.

According to him, he was underpaid by the organizers and disrespected on a flyer listing the artists to be featured in the concert. He added that his inclusion on the list was not genuine, alleging that the event organizers had been working against him for a long time.

“So, this year, I became a public demand, and they want to include me in their concert and offer me 15,000 dalasis. I thought about doing it for Gambia, but the next minute they listed me under the ‘upcoming artists,’ which is a clear disrespect to me,” he explained.

“I want to let you know that I am a light in the dark. 2025 is my year, and I am the man to be watched. I deserve respect, and if you’re not giving me my respect, I am taking it back. So, this year, I say no to the Best of the Best with their disrespectful flyers and their disrespect towards me,” he concluded.
