Yaya Jimotey Tamba has resigned from the No To Alliance group, which supports exiled former Gambian President Yahya Jammeh.

Tamba was handpicked by Jammeh to lead the group after he fell out with Fabakary Tombong Jatta and others in 2021 for backing President Adama Barrow’s re-election.

However, Jimotey Tamba has now tendered his resignation letter, informing Jammeh that he is ceasing to be a member.

“I have the humble pleasure of writing to tender my resignation from the APRC effective today, the 18th of April 2025. After a thorough review of my political engagement, I have come to the conclusion that I can no longer work for or with the party, and have finally decided to withdraw my affiliation with the party,”Jimotey said in the letter.

Tamba’s resignation follows a major shake-up in the group’s top leadership by Jammeh, who expelled seven senior members over alleged misconduct.
