The Gambia Experience has announced a new partnership with Ascend Airways enhancing its winter 2025/26 flight programme to The Gambia.
This comprises a 25% increase in seat capacity, new Saturday services, and more flexible travel options, it says.
Starting on 4 October 2025, The Gambia Experience’s direct flight service from London Gatwick, will utilise Ascend’s Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft.
The aircraft will support a 25% increase in the operator’s seat capacity over the winter season—boosting availability to 189 seats per flight, up from 150.
Adama Njie, Director of Tourism at the Gambia Tourism Board (GTB), hailed the news: “This is a clear indication of their commitment to Destination Gambia. This will not only boost awareness of The Gambia in the UK market but also contribute to employment within the tourism industry.”
“This new partnership with Ascend Airways is a pivotal step forward for us,” said Chris Ayling Managing Director at The Gambia Experience.
“We believe this will provide great opportunities for us to grow our
programme using an aircraft that is better suited to the route.”
