President Adama Barrow has just been sworn in office for a second term by the nation’s chief justice Hassan B Jallow at the Independent Stadium in Bakau.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by eight presidents from West Africa including the Nigerian leader Muhammadou Buhari. The president of Guinea Bissau left for his country shortly before Barrow took the oath of office.

Scores of supporters of the ruling National People’s Party also attended the ceremony and government ministers.
