TMT FC youngster Alieu Saine has been named Man of the Match following his outstanding performance in The Gambia’s 4–1 victory over Sierra Leone in the WAFU Zone A U-17 tournament in Dakar.

Alieu Saine played a starring role in the Scorplings’ comeback after Sierra Leone took an early lead through Ousman Bangura.

The young forward first restored parity from the penalty spot after Sharif Touray was brought down inside the box. Just five minutes later, Saine stepped up again and confidently converted another penalty to complete the turnaround.

Beyond his two goals, Saine was a constant threat throughout his time on the pitch, showing confidence, energy and composure in attack.

Alieu Saine’s performance earned him the Man of the Match award, capping a memorable opening game for the TMT FC youngster and providing an early statement of intent in the tournament.

The Scorplings will now shift their attention to their second Group A fixture against Mauritania on September 10th, with Saine expected to remain one of the key players to watch.
